FOUNDER & PRESIDENT

Hey! I am Lemeng Kong from California, and I am a rising sophomore at The Harker School. I love doing environmental science and psychology research, participating in business competitions, and being an entrepreneur! I decided to start Sustainable Style because I was devastated that the flashy, colorful items that brought me joy as a child are responsible for numerous environmental and social problems. A fun fact about me is that I attended first grade in Beijing, China!

VICE PRESIDENT OF PUBLIC RELATIONS

Hi, I am Novak Chen, a rising senior at Mission San Jose High School. I am an extremely passionate journalist, covering numerous topics related to law, politics, and economics. I also love philosophical debates, having founded the Philosophy Club at MSJHS. My hobbies include chess, Tetris, and journalism. I joined SustainableStyle because I am extremely passionate about environmental justice, and I believe that through SustainableStyle, we can make a real change, a real impact. Fun fact: I am ranked 151 in the us for modern tetris.

Hi! My name is Nithya Kanamarlapudi, and I am a rising sophomore at Crystal Springs Uplands. I love history and science, but I especially love researching how human life has changed throughout history and the numerous impacts that come from that. These changes also include the growing environmental impacts of the fast fashion industry, which is a major reason why I decided to join Sustainable Style. Not only that, but I also want to be able to help people shop more sustainably! A fun fact about me is that I am a third-degree black belt in TaeKwonDo! :)

Hello! I'm David Niu, a junior at Vancouver College in beautiful British Columbia. I'm a passionate rower and student and I love meeting new people and striking up new conversations. I founded my school's competitive coding organization and organized many lectures. In my free time, you'll often find me biking through the province, always looking for a different place to go. My dedication to sustainability began when I noticed the excessive clothing waste in my neighborhood and school, especially with school jerseys and uniforms. A fun fact about me: just this June, I placed second and fourth at nationals for rowing.

Hi! I’m Zoe Zhang, a freshman at Century High School. I’m super passionate about Biology, Environmental science, and participating in science fairs. My hobbies include art, writing and tennis- having been on my highschool team since my 7th grade year. I first became interested in environmental science through my love of fashion, seeing the drastic quality and environmental damage that fast fashion was causing. Watching what was happening around me, I wanted to find a way to better the community and environment around me. A fun fact about me is that I played one singles in eighth grade for my tennis team!
